E4 and E5 Error - How to prevent from freezing

How to Fix E4 and E5 Error Codes on Your Icetubs Engine

Encountering E4 or E5 error codes on your Icetubs Engine typically means the system is experiencing freezing temperatures either in the water or in the surrounding environment. Acting quickly is critical to prevent permanent engine damage — and to protect your Icetubs Warranty.

Engines can withstand freezing temperatures up to -5 degrees Celsius, only if the engine is active 24/7 on Automatic mode. Operating the Engine on any other mode or with an activated timer can be harmful and will result in a broken engine.

Step-by-Step Instructions to Address E4 & E5 Errors

1. Turn Off the Engine

Immediately power down your Icetubs Engine to prevent additional strain or damage to the compressor.

2. Drain the Water

Completely drain the water from your Icetub. Frozen or near-freezing water poses a significant risk to the engine.

3. Move to a Warmer Location

Place the Icetub and Engine indoors or into a warmer, sheltered environment:

  • Ensure the engine’s fan has open space around it to release warm air efficiently.

4. Refill with Room-Temperature Water

Once relocated, refill the Icetub with water at room temperature.
This helps regulate internal system temperatures and prepares the unit for safe operation.

5. Restart the Engine

Turn the engine back on after refilling. Monitor the performance closely to confirm that the error codes are clear.

⚠️Important Notice About Freezing Risks

  • The Icetubs Engine can withstand temperatures to -5°C (23°F).

  • If the surrounding temperature is colder than -5°C for more than 24 hours, the risk of engine damage increases sharply.

  • If the water in your tub freezes during an error, it can permanently damage the engine.

To maintain your Icetubs Warranty, it is critical to follow these steps promptly when encountering freezing temperatures.
