Limescale in your Icetub - How to prevent it

🧾 Mineral Build-Up from Hard Water

Limescale is a chalky white residue that can appear along the waterline of your Icetub. It’s caused by hard water (water with high mineral content), especially when used together with AquaFinesse. While not harmful, it can leave cosmetic marks on the tub’s stainless steel.

Limescale

Limescale does not damage your tub or engine. It’s easy to prevent with a few adjustments.

🌊 Why Limescale Happens

Hard water contains calcium and magnesium. These minerals react with AquaFinesse and settle as solid deposits. This happens faster in tubs without heaters or jets.

Limescale is most likely to occur if the water in your region has a dH (German hardness) level above 7.

🧪 How to Prevent Limescale

Use Half the AquaFinesse Dose

After refreshing the water, use half the normal dose of AquaFinesse for the first two weeks. This slows down calcium conversion and helps avoid mineral deposits. After two weeks, return to the regular schedule.

Use Mixed Water if You Have a Softener

Fill the Icetub with 50% softened water and 50% regular tap water. This reduces limescale without making the water too soft, which can impact pH balance.

Keep Water Balanced

Keep your pH between 7.2 and 7.8. This ensures comfort and reduces buildup while keeping the water clean and safe.
